Fairborn drops 2 games to Troy

Wednesday night the Skyhawks started a game vs Troy at home. The game got suspended in the 3rd inning with the Skyhawks down 8-3.
Friday night, the Skyhawks traveled to Troy to complete the first game, as well as play the scheduled contest against Troy.
On Wednesday, the Skyhawks dug themselves a hole early, committing 3 errors in the first inning and falling behind early. The struggle continued in completing the first game Friday night and the Skyhawks fell 16-3.

The second game was a much better game, despite ending with a loss. Fairborn kept the game close, but often could not get the big hit when they needed it most, or make the big play on defense when they needed it most. The Skyhawks committed 5 errors on the night. While the Skyhawks were only outhit by 1 hit (7-6), the errors and 5 walks led to Troy scoring more runs. Jase Duncan (pictured led the Skyhawks offensively going 3-4 with 2 RBI. The Skyhawks put the ball in play all game, striking out only 4 times in the game, but Troy's defense made the plays when they needed to keeping more runs from scoring. Kannon Reeser ( 0-2 with 2 walks), Andrew Schmidt (1-3) and Gavin Howard (pinch runner) stole 2 bases each, giving the team 49 swiped bags for the year.

Kannon Reeser started on the mound for the Skyhawks in the 2nd game, going 3 1/3 innings allowing 7 hits, 8 runs (only 5 earned) with 4 walks and 1 strikeout. Ayden Davis pitched the remaining 2.2 innings giving up 0 hits while allowing 1 run (unearned) with 3 strikeouts and 1 walk.

The Skyhawks are at it again Saturday at noon taking on Miami Trace at home.
