Friday's game against Piqua was a heartbreaker for the Skyhawks, as they lost the lead late in a 7-3 defeat. The game was tied at three with Piqua batting in the bottom of the sixth when Piqua singled on a 2-0 count, knocking in the go ahead run.
Skyhawks opened up scoring in the first inning. Cayden Bailey doubled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run.
The Skyhawks saw the ball well today, racking up six hits in the game. Bailey and Caleb Anderson (pictured) each managed multiple hits for Fairborn Skyhawks Varsity. Brayden Harris and Garrett Shuttleworth collected the other hits for the Skyhawks.
The Skyhawks played strong defense, committing only one error in the game, and almost kept up with Piqua in hits (Piqua 8 Fairborn 6), but a few walks allowed by the Skyhawks was the difference in the score.
Fairborn takes on Piqua again Wednesday (May 3) at home.
