The Skyhawks squared off against the West Carrollton Pirates in an old-fashioned pitchers dual.
West Carrollton's Xavier Jones threw 6 innings with 6 strikeouts and 4 walks in a very solid outing, while surrendering only 3 runs. Unfortunately for him, Skyhawks starter Kannon Reeser (pictured) had an even stronger outing, a complete game 3 hitter with 11 strikeouts and 0 walks. He surrendered only 1 run (unearned).

With the game being a pitcher's dual, the Skyhawk bats were slowed down a little bit. They collected only 7 hits (along with 4 walks). Xavier McDougle and Hayden Arndts both had 2 hits. Reuben Marquess, Cayden Osborne, and Andrew Schmidt each added a single. The Skyhawks had runners aboard in every inning but the 3rd. They were able to get 2 runs across the plate in the 2nd inning and one across in the 5th.

Skyhawks fielding continues to improve as they committed only one error in the game, but once again, the error lead to an unearned run. 27 total chances on plays, and just the one error, the defense backed up the pitching to secure the win.

The Skyhawks take on West Carrollton again on Monday at Action Sports with an early start time of 4:30.
