After going 3-0 in the preseason, the Skyhawks dropped their first 2 regular season games, but have stormed back and won their last 4 in a row, defeating West Carrollton 7-1.
Fairborn stayed fairly hot at the plate, knocking out 9 more hits, while also drawing 6 walks and 4 hit by pitch. Brayden Harris (2-4), Jase Duncan (2-3 with 2 walks), Cayden Osborne (2-3 with a triple and a walk) and Andrew Schmidt (2-3 with 1 walk) each collected 2 hits for the Skyhawks. Kannon Reeser (1-3 with a walk and a HBP) added another single. Kannon Reeser and Brayden Harris each had 2 RBI.
The pitching for the Skyhawks was outstanding once again. Brayden Harris (pictured) threw a complete game 3 hitter notching 8 strikeouts with 0 Walks. He surrendered 1 run (unearned) and faced only 2 batters over the minimum.
The defense was actually very solid as the Skyhawks committed only 1 error in the game (albeit a costly one, allowing the lone run for the Pirates). The Skyhawks flashed the leather and the arms, with 2 diving catches, and a perfect relay to throw a runner out at 3rd trying to stretch a double into a triple.
The Skyhawks travel to Oakwood tomorrow and try to keep the winning streak alive.
