Fairborn bounces back from losses to Troy by defeating Miami Trace 7-2 on Saturday.

Xavier McDougle started on the mound for the Skyhawks and pitched a complete game, throwing 7 innings, 83 pitches, surrendering 5 hits, 2 runs (0 earned runs) striking out 1 and walking only 1. Xavier pounded the strike zone and the defense (despite 3 errors) made some outstanding plays behind the hurler to help secure the victory. Xavier did a great job throwing strikes, keeping the batters off balance and "pitching to contact" and the defense behind him helped earn the hurler the victory on the day.

Offensively, the Skyhawks used 6 hits and 6 walks and 1 error by Miami Trace along with 7 stolen bases to score 7 runs. Nick Cunningham (1-3 with 3 RBI), Jase Duncan (1-4 with 1 RBI), Kannon Reeser (1-4 with 1 RBI), Xavier McDougle (1-2 with a walk) and Reuben Marquess (1-3) each collected singles. Kannon Reeser and Gavin Howard each stole two bases, Jase Duncan, Nick Cunningham and Andrew Schmidt each stole 1 base giving the Skyhawks a lead leading 56 stolen bases on the year, with Reeser (20), Schmidt (11) and Howard (9) being the top three in the league so far this year. The BIG hit of the game came from Brayden Harris (pictured) who led off the bottom of the 5th inning with a solo home run over the left field fence.

The Skyhawks look to extend their winning streak Tuesday at Stebbins.
