Casey Weidl will speak to them via virtual call at 2:30 PM on Thursday, Sep. 12, 2024, at our football stadium.
Casey Weidl is the Pittsburgh Steelers' Director of Pro Scouting. He was hired by the Steelers in February 2023. Before joining the Steelers, Weidl worked for the Philadelphia Eagles as a scout and eventually served as the team's Director of Scouting operations. Casey has a strong background in player evaluation and years of experience in both pro and college scouting.
Weidl comes from a football family—his brother, Andy Weidl, is the Steelers' Assistant General Manager, and his family has deep ties to football operations. Casey's expertise in pro scouting has been critical to the Steelers as they continue to build and evaluate their roster.
He will talk to our kids about:
How every role matters in a football program
Please take pride in your role and do it to your best.
How the Steelers organization evaluates and scouts high-character players who are excellent/selfless teammates.
Responding to adversity (Casey worked for the Eagles' front office when Carson Wentz tore his ACL, and backup quarterback Nick Foles became the Super Bowl MVP.
